Beautiful Raw Butter

We churn a half gallon of cream in our churn

   

Butter is one of life's decadent pleasures.  In our home we consume large amounts of grass-fed raw butter.  We consider it a health food, therefore bare no shame in eating to our heart's desire.  Over the years I have experimented with various methods of butter-making and I always return to hand-churning in a glass jar.  Despite the repetitive motion and lengthly stillness of sitting, I find this a worthy task.  I am sharing photos of our butter-making process.

Here is our churn, it usually takes about 30 minutes to make butter

After draining the buttermilk off, I add ice cubes to ensure my butter stays cold
